The user requirements phase defines the features and functions of the new system in enough detail so that technology can be selected, RFP's can be developed and phased releases can be planned and scheduled. This phases is critical to the success of the project. The project diagram on the left shows the major activities (blue boxes), tasks (the middle section) and deliverables (bottom box).
